It doesn't matter if you change anything like QRF or not. (or what did you mean?)
Password in server name is not allowed, this is what I was reffering to.
PW in server name would have been a good solution because new players can join aswell and still know it is something special.

I said we don't need a password since we are not running special configs.

Feedback 09.01. :
-Jabal (MEC): balanced, good CO, SQL teamwork, but APC waster SQ
-Kham (US): balanced, good coordination with SQL, CO said UAV wasnt working..., CAS disconnect?, too many assetwaster...
US has no chance against an organized team (very good job MECs!!)
-Saaremaa (RUS): balanced, good coordination with SQL, no wasting, was alot of fun
All in all: I enjoyed all 3 rounds, because the teams were balanced. Good job NEW!!!

Re: Joint Forces Teamworkday Discussion / Feedback
Small after-action report here.
Jabal al Burj (USMC, INF)
Was Squadleading QRF-Jalablabla Squad. Comms were hard in the beginning (nobody answered me... ), we were flying straight to southbridge and harrassed the city a bit from up there. AAVs moved up and we had three Squads and 2 AAVs going to dam at the same time, which was pretty epic.
We had no FOBs at that time and lost momentum (trans squad was pretty bad!), causing in the usual dam-stalemante. The other squads were swarming around us while we were holding out in the dam.
Attackers lost too many tickets, that's why we lost. Had lots of fun (good Coordination with Mariachi and NEW APC, some other SLs need to learn how to use mumble first ... ).
Khamisiyah (MEC, Heavy INF)
Was Squadmember in Spooks Squad, very interesting to play INS. We built all the assets east of the first cache location. Killed couple of APC/Humvee/INf/Tank Stuff. I managed to take down A10. I felt like US team wasn't really aware of what we had up there. Nice flanking maneuvre after that by your guys coming from north. We didn't realize when the cache got killed and suddenly we were the only Meccies left on that side of the map. Got killed quick. But who cares, doesn't cost any tickets.
We then moved to the city, where the second cache was. Moved out towards that outpost thing in the middle, where US had a FOB and we had an Unkown. Killed it, built own FOB and returned to town. At that time, US did an huge attack from the North with multiple INF and Vehicles. We managed to take down Bradley and Tank with the HATs. From that time on, heavy fighting in town and the other cache. Very good game, good fun, a bit long. Coordination was good as far as I can tell. Transport pilot got kicked after a stupid incident, but he did a very good job other than that. Good coordination with the tanks and having people on all caches. VERY GOOD AA-Coverage. We had 7 rockets chasing the A10 at once (he all dodged them)...
Saaremaa (RU, RECON)
Sweeping the woods with Finrar. Medium success. LAV surviving a mine, wtf?
Overall, good rounds, had best squad twice, well-balanced and good fun! Keep it up.

regardign the the APC SQ, they worked well together and followed orders, supported the squads which called in support ect. I definitely don't regret my decision to have not resigned him.
He isn't the best SQL ever, but he proofed that he wants to win with the team and played decent, and that's all what counts - for me atleast. Also APCs killed the CAS a few times.
Great kudos to OD-S for being excellent mortar squad, pushing the FOBs and enemies away right after they started to camp.
Yep, it indeed was good covered. Or why do you think has the A-10 just killed 3 vehicles all game long? Becuase it only dropped bombs blindly from +1000m on the city, as noone was able to spot all the troops and AAs or even make lasertargets. And when the A-10 dived in once with spamming flares at the end, it was downed by AA spam, exploding in the flares close to the A-10. You can call your AA coverage useless, but it wasn't...VERY GOOD AA-Coverage. We had 7 rockets chasing the A10 at once (he all dodged them)...

Re: Joint Forces Teamworkday Discussion / Feedback
OMG we managed to balance the teams, do I need to write more?
Jabal Al Burj (MEC, MECH INF)
Great games yesterday, I'm not a big fan on Jabal since I believe MORTARs + UAV is just OP, while absolutely no cover for INF but we had great teamwork, great comms and epic APC support, even if we failed attacking the damn dam.
Khamisiyah (US Army, MECH INF)
Team was patient, we tried to do some prepared assaults but the enemy team was too well organized while we had intel issues due to no CO and proper marks on the map. Posted some feedback here: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f253-ma ... ncy-2.html
Would be nice to hear some feedback from other squads or the other side.
Saaremaa (RUS, LIGHT INF)
Great comms, tough fighting around the house. LAV was pain in the ass, we had issues with our trans pilots in the beginning.
Would be awesome if we get the teams balanced like this every thursday, it is something completely different if you fight an equal team instead of getting crushed or steamrolling the other team.
May the next JFT Night be as balanced as this was!
cheers,
Curry.

Re: Joint Forces Teamworkday Discussion / Feedback
It was a good JFTN. Much better than the last two! If we can manage to have balanced teams and as many clan/community members like this time, we won't need a password.
Having commanders would be wonderful (:

Re: Joint Forces Teamworkday Discussion / Feedback
Hey guys,
more of a general feedback post:
Maps:
1. Khamisiyah Skirmish: I wasn't on the server, can't tell.
2. Kozelsk AAS Alt: Well I joined a little late into the round. Know that we have the 1-shot-bug we tried to organize our team a little but it was just too hard. Too many random pubbies, we really tried but we had no chance. Even tho I've to say that RUS could have won with way more tickets, so we did some damage to them.
3. Shijia ALT AAS: Motivated to give the PLA a hell of a fight we loaded in Shijia. We started pretty well, Matchi's squad started to cap Tunnel and I tried to convince everyone to not attack the Mine flag, that we should slow down and should try to make it a good game instead of a fast one. Nobody gave a fuck and PLA recovered and did some great damage to our FOBs and assets.
Overall it felt way more balanced again but the teamwork, at least on our side wasn't as good as on previous JFT's. Even tho some people (mostly pubbies) said we had great teamwork and my squad was mostly supported by a friendly APC. I'm happy that we are getting the balance issues sorted but we need to pay more attention to the CO, the team coordination and the teamwork. Rage was CO on Shijia and organized us great, dropped markers when needed and gave orders from time to time. On Kozelsk I sent Akusoy on the CO seat since I wanted to build some FOBs and organize the defence. Since we kinda sorted out the balance we can take a closer look at the teamwork. Sure we should give anyone the chance to squadlead but I think we should cover more squads with people from “usâ€. Crazy to hear this coming from me but I think we should spread out over more squads, allow more pubbies to join the squads and instead have more competent SL’s. By doing that we can give individuals the chance to join the mostly locked “clansquads†and have a proper JFT experience, which makes then eventually rejoin on the following thursday. I come to this conclusion because the CO ingame can’t command and use the UAV properly, so the main objectives might come from his side but the rest needs to be organized by the SL’s themselves. For example the CO looks at the KDR and tickets and decides that another attack would be a waste of tickets, he hands out the general mission to fall back and defend, then it is up to the SL’s to realize that order and organize a retreat. Such an order / mission can come from a SL as well IMO.
A CO can only be as good as his officers!
On Kozelsk we had at least one squad (they stayed for several rounds) which wasn’t cooperative at all, Moulin kicked them at some point of the game. I believe we need to be more clear on what the JFT actually is. There are these orange messages about cache intelligence (on INS obviously) and we all know them from vanilla, I was wondering if can we use this orange, bold messages to remind everyone that it is JFT? Like a message showing up every X minutes with a message like: “Reminder: It’s Joint Forces Teamwork Day, communication and teamplay is a must†or something like that.
I also believe that we should increase the briefing time on the server up to 10 minutes. Not sure if that will help since we still have the 3 minutes squad rule, but some more preparation before each round, would clearly help to organize the team. That give us more time to brief the squads, inform the other SL’s about the plan of your squad and give us more time to balance the teams. As well as people have more time to figure out what the team needs, like logistics and MORTARs, etc. Or maybe a !restart after the time has reached 00:00:01?
Another point which I can’t make up my mind just yet is rushing. On Shijia my squad rushed the Airport together with the Utd guys. While in my understanding of the game rushing is needed at some point to get early control of a certain area, I do believe that we should slow down a little on JFT’s. Shijia could have been much more fun and last way longer. We should aim for longer rounds instead of outcapping one team within the first 30 minutes.
Overall I’ve to say the mapchoice we did before was great. Less assets, more INF. I know Rage and Moulin need their daily dose of flying but we should really try out more INF and ALT layers. Even if the ticket amount is lower the rounds last longer, at least thats my feeling.
I don’t really wanna talk about Marlin and Qwai, even tho I’m a big fan of 2km maps, those two maps sucks balls (just my personal opinion).
About voting on the maps, as Rage said it will be a lot of work, I think our current way of picking the maps is fine, everyone can throw a map or idea into the thread and everyone will discuss it. But what would be nice would be a list of all JFT’s with all maps we played already - lets find the underplayed maps and layouts. IMo we don’t even need to pick 3 maps, pick one underplayed Skirmish to seed and pick two great maps, 1x 2km and 1x 4km.
Overall I’ve to say what we made out of a usual boring “0815†thursday pubbing by creating the JFT is just awesome. It’s the only time I really enjoy pubbing.
I’m really looking forward guys, great work so far!
cheers,
Curry.
P.S. Turned into a wall of text - derp.
