Re: JFTD - Revival
The name should be independent from Thursday since we want to run events on other dates too. Thats at least how it was in the past.

Re: JFTD - Revival
Joint Special Operations Day (or Night) - JSOD (or JSON).
- participants have to sign in (at least one day before the event).
- the event is taking place on a locked server (PW in TS or in Forums).

Re: JFTD - Revival
While I would appreciate the first point (even though its hard to get people do it, I suggested it last year and was boooohed out of the room) I still dont like the idea of a locked server.TheNakedGun hat geschrieben:- participants have to sign in (at least one day before the event).

Imho the teamwork event is not only for regulars but for publis to see what PR is about (at least for us). Those days should present the way we intend to play PR. I believe there are a lot of people out there who want to play this way as well and by choosing good maps, providing good CO's ans SL's and kicking idiots even faster than on normal pub days, they will see and learn this very quick.
Passworded will be like a "secret club". I dont like the idea.
I chuckled at "json" btw. ;)

Yes...and no. The problem i have seen in the past: most people didn't notice, that there is an event.Ranzpirat hat geschrieben: Imho the teamwork event is not only for regulars but for publis to see what PR is about (at least for us). That's not true, because the PW will be always published (maybe also in the server name the event is running ... or in server description). So what, if some people don't want to participate on an event? If the event is running on our public server, the people are forced to participate, right?Ranzpirat hat geschrieben: Passworded will be like a "secret club".
So with a PW i think we can bring more seriousness to this event...and people can decide, if they want to participate....and maybe they will read our forums and support the event with constructive suggestions and so on...
Hehe..me also....i think every software developer will chuckle on jsonRanzpirat hat geschrieben:I chuckled at "json" btw. ;)

Well..its derived from JSOC - the forces who killed Bin Laden: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_Spec ... ns_Command
