Comment:
Was flying a cobra on Muttrah. We engaged the MEC fortress several times to kill the obvious HAT + AA that likes to sit on that tower. After that was cleared up we peeked out the SW side of fortress to kill the quad cannon next to it to ensure that it would not be a problem in the future. In the corner of my screen I noticed an APC leaving main and notified my gunner (Pronk) of its presence. Told him not to engage it as it was driving on the road leading to main. After the quad was destroyed my gunner engaged the APC after it left the road leading to main and was off the "ramp" leading to main. I could not confirm where the APC was exactly when this happened since the gunners head was blocking my visual of where it had been. Pronk has his point of view recorded and will most likely post it here. The ban was a temp ban so this is more of a "Ban Report" rather than a "Ban Appeal" since in my opinion it was not baserape.

I do have my POV recorded, but first I will explain it by typing. If isn't enough to prove our innocence I will upload my footage.

At the first attack on the fortress we took out the MANPAD dude, but not the HAT guy. He missed us on the way back. Before this attack they had been shooting our CAS Huey for quite a time.

We came back for a second run, I saw an APC, turned out he was blown up (North side of Fortress). Then I looked left, Brooklyn told me about the quad. However I saw a BTR with a HAT guy on top and he was in G12KP8. This is out of DOD and in legal combat area. I missed a few hellfires due to my sensitivity. Then I hit him while he went more off the ramp to G12KP7. After dead I killed the quad, the objective we came for.

During this engagement the BTR was always in a combat area, outside of DOD. He could flee into the mainbase, but instead he stayed put outside of the DOD.

After the engagement Brooklyn got temp banned that is the first fault, I was the gunner so if we actually made a mistake I should have been temp banned.

So to wrap it up:

- BTR was not in the main during the engagement, instead he was at G12KP8/7 the whole time.
- Our objective wasn't the BTR, but the HAT / MANPAD and Quad at the fortress. The BTR interrupted us.

While I was not there when this happened I still want to add my personal 2cents.

Dont overreact, friends. It was "just" a tempban. Sometimes it happens that an Admin punishes wrong/to hard. We are humans too. We make mistakes. Baserape is a banable offense, so when such a report comes in, we take it VERY seriously. If it would have been a ban, we would need to look at footage, etc. mumblemumble; but it was just a timeout for one round.

The Admin who tb'ed you (abcd) will respond to your thread as soon as he sees this, but from my point of view: chill.

I talked with the guys on TS after that situation and tell them to bring this topic in our forum because in my opinion that ban was absolutely not ok from our side and we have to talk about this things honestly especially with friends and buddys in war

My view of the situation:
I was the gunner of that APC you killed and I spotted the cobra first after we picked up our HAT guy at the fortress. I was just screaming in local/squad chat "MOVE MOVE MOVE cobra is behind us" and then my driver just stopped on the ramp down from the fortress and he was telling me that he will ban the cobra then they will kill us there. At the same time our HAT guy was shooting on the cobra (and missed) and I started shooting at the cobra too. A few seconds later we got hit by a hellfire and we moved directly to hell

After that in TS
After that we discussed that situation in TS and nearly everybody says this action was totally ok and not worth a warn, kick or whatever. A few seconds later you guys get a TB.

I was not involved in this situition but honestly i'am deeply disappointed from our admin(s) in this case

At least they should try to talk to you and try to figure out what happend and not just tb you !

I'am really sry for this admin behavior, no matter if he was right or fault the lack of communication should not happen again, especially not with such a stong buddy as you guys!

I hope we can clear this case and learn from it to improve our engagement !

Okay, next time I am not involved I just keep it for myself. Did not know about that timeline as shown by Neander.

edit: Yes, Brooklyn. You are absolutely right with bringing it to the forums. I just didnt know about that discussion on TS, so I assumed the situation was something else.

I wasn't going to report this on your forum since it was just a "temp ban". However Neander asked me to and, to me, it seemed that by doing so it would contribute positively to improving how things are handled on the NEW server. And so i posted the report...

PS: holy shit, lots of you guys are in Berlin. I was there not that long ago. Should have gotten a beer or something. The only duck from Berlin (Lemmy) wasn't active in PR at the time.

We really aprreciate any kind of feedback including but not limited to unban requests. For us its important to be fair and professional in every situation so this will be discussed and we will find the reason for incidents like this and fix them to improve the experience for you and our admins.
